Why We Love (and Support) REAPER

Hint: The Answer is Accessibility

Last Update 2 years ago

Learning Ally supports REAPER and can lend a hand with any recording problems arising in this DAW.

We support REAPER for a few reasons:

  1. REAPER is a full-powered, professional DAW that can be downloaded for free. It has a 60-day free trial period, and once this period expires, you must buy a license, though the software will continue to work without the purchase. A discounted license can be purchased for a one-time payment of $60.
    1. Click here for a how-to on the download and setup of REAPER.
  2. REAPER can be fully set up and rearranged to fit your needs. Colors can be changed, themes changed, toolbars reorganized--all to suit your needs.
    1. In-depth videos and how-tos for this can be found on youtube in addition to our articles and videos.
  3. REAPER is a fully accessible DAW. On both PC and Mac, screen readers are able to work well with the program. There is an extension that can be downloaded to make REAPER even more accessible for screen readers.
    1. Follow the instructions here for downloading OSARA for REAPER.
