We have developed extensive conventions covering these textbook elements, figure descriptions, and even subject conventions. But you should always start with the Project Spec Sheets since this document is where we cover the elements in that particular book and may contain exceptions to the more general conventions.  You can find a link to the Project Spec Sheets for that project by clicking on the "Guidelines" tab in the project site.
